Members of the Kane County Bar Association are specially invited to be an integral part of this important community Program as Mediators.

Mediator Eligibility: Must be a member in good standing of the Illinois bar or a retired judge.   Attorneys are preferred to have at least one year experience in the practice of law, real estate, or mortgage banking.  The Chief Judge may also expand eligibility to include licensed real estate professionals in good standing if required to meet demands of the Program.  Mediators must be trained and certified.

Required Training:  KCBA members who wish to serve as mediators with the program are able to attend this NO-COST five-day training, in exchange for a commitment to serve as pro bono mediator no more than five times over the duration of the Program.  Mediators must demonstrate completion of this foreclosure mediation training, or a comparable mediation certification. CLE credit may also be available. THIS OFFER OF NO-COST TRAINING IS A ONE TIME OPPORTUNITY UNDER THIS PROGRAM!

Mediator Compensation:  When the Mediation Program is operational, Mediators will be selected on a rotating basis.  Fees to the Mediator will be no less than between $100 and $150 for each completed foreclosure mediation.
